Knitting pattern FANCY SLEEVES SWEATER - oversized chunky sweater with special sleeves

With this easy and clear written pattern you can get started knitting your own oversized sweater with special sleeves. The FANCY SLEEVES SWEATER is an oversized sweater with my special signature sleeves. This sweater has been going viral on Pinterest since 2020. There are several knitting patterns available in our webshop with these types of sleeves. The pattern of this sweater is also available with a V-neck.

You can knit this design in many colors or color combinations. You can even choose to add an extra (decorative) strand, like a glittery yarn to give your sweater that extra sparkle. 

STITCHES AND ABBREVIATIONS
I believe that the sweater is not very difficult to knit, but you do need some knitting experience. The techniques you need for this knitting pattern are: 

• Knit (K) and purl (P) stitches alternated (rib stitch)
• Knit (K) and purl (P) rows alternated (stockinette stitch)
• Mattress stitch (to seam the sweater up)

SIZES
The knitting pattern contains one size and has an oversized fit. The sweater is worked up in four separate parts. The sweater is very oversized if it’s worn as a size S, and has a regular fit if it’s worn as a size XL. The length and/or width of the design can be adjusted to your own wishes. If you make any adjustments to the length and/or width, you will need extra yarn.

MATERIALS

• 8 mm (US 11 / UK 0) and 10 mm (US 15 / UK 000) straight knitting needles
• Tapestry needle to seam the cardigan up.
• Scissors

YARN
You need approx. 844 - 900 meters for every strand. I used 4 strands of yarn together. Approx. 16 balls (211 meters / 25 grams per ball), a total of 400 grams (3376 meters total / 844 meters per strand).

The light pink yarn in the photos is from the American brand Lion Brand (Mohair Silk in color Wisp). This yarn is discontinued. The fiber content is 70% mohair and 30% silk. A similar yarn is, for example, the Drops Kid Silk in the color 40 pink pearl. 

Any yarn or yarn combination suitable for a 10 mm needle can be used to knit this sweater. I recommended knitting a swatch, especially when using a substitute yarn.
