Language

This knitted kimono is a nice and light basic with countless color options. Because of the loose stitches and design, it almost looks like a shawl. This piece doesn't take up much space, so you can easily take the KNITTED KIMONO with you for when it cools down a bit in the evening. Beautiful to wear with a summer outfit, but also nice to wear with jeans and cool sneakers. Or even with your wedding or a party dress.

STITCHES AND ABBREVIATIONS
I believe that the kimono is not very difficult to knit, but you do need some knitting experience. The techniques you need for this knitting pattern are:

  • Knit (K) and purl (P) stitches alternated (rib stitch)
  • Knit (K) and purl (P) rows alternated (stockinette stitch)
  • Mattress stitch

SIZES
The knitting pattern contains one size and has an oversized fit. The cardigan is very oversized if it’s worn as a size S, and has a regular fit if it’s worn as a size XL. The length and/or width of the design can be adjusted to your own wishes. If you make any adjustments to the length and/or width, you will need extra yarn.

MATERIALS

  • Straight knitting needles 15 mm
  • Tapestry needle to seam the kimono up.
  • Scissors

YARN
For this Knitted kimono I used 8 skeins of Drops Brushed Alpaca Silk in the color 18 – Cerise. Holding 2 strands together. You can also use similar yarn for this project. The yarn is obviously too thin for 15 mm needles, that is why I used this type of yarn. It gives the effect where the stitches are very open. When using other yarn, always make a test piece.

Further information is described in the pattern. If you have any questions, please send a message. After ordering this digital product, you will receive a digital pattern (PDF-file) with which you can knit a kimono yourself. You will not receive a finished project!
