Knitting pattern HAPPY HEADBAND - a twisted hair band / ear warmer

Because I like to wear twisted headbands and scarves in my hair during the summer, I came up with the idea of ​​making a winter version: a twisted KNITTED headband. The HAPPY HEADBAND is a true must have for when your ears are about to freeze off, but also nice as a finishing touch for your winter outfit. You can knit this design in many colors or color combinations. You can even choose to add an extra (decorative) strand, like a glittery yarn to give your ear warmer that extra sparkle. 

STITCHES AND ABBREVIATIONS
I believe that the headband is not very difficult to knit, but you do need some knitting experience. The techniques you need for this knitting pattern are:

• Garter stitch (knit every row)
• Increasing stitches
• Decreasing stitches

SIZES
The knitting pattern contains one size. The length and/or width of the design can be adjusted to your own wishes. If you make any adjustments to the length and/or width, you will need extra yarn.

MATERIALS

• Straight knitting needles 6 mm (US 10 / UK 4)
• Stitch markers
  
• Tapestry needle to weave the ends.
• Scissors

YARN
For this project I used mohair-like yarn leftovers. I used approx. 35 grams, holding 4 strands of yarn together. Before I started knitting the Happy Headband, I made 4 little balls of approx. 8 or 9 grams to have the 4 strands wich I holded together while knitting. There are several great brands that sell mohair-like yarn, including Drops.

Any yarn or yarn combination suitable for a 6 mm needle can be used to knit this headband. When using other yarn, always make a test piece.
