Crochet pattern WAVES SWEATER - oversized chunky sweater with wide sleeves

With this easy and clearly written pattern you can get started to crochet your own colorful WAVES SWEATER with wide sleeves. You can crochet this design in many colors or color combinations. You can even choose to add an extra (decorative) strand, like a glittery yarn to give your sweater that extra sparkle. 

The Waves Sweater is easy te combine with many different outfit styles. You can wear it wit a jeans and sneakers or with your favorite flared pants and Uggs. 

STITCHES AND ABBREVIATIONS
I believe that the sweater is not very difficult to crochet, but you do need some experience. The pattern is in US terms. The techniques you need for this crochet pattern are: 

•  st(s) - stitches
• ch – chain stitch
• dc - double crochet
• dc2tog - double crochet 2 together
• sc - single crochet
• sl st - slip stitch
• weaving in ends
• binding off
• mattress stitch

SIZES
The crochet pattern contains two sizes: S/M and L/XL. The sweater has an oversized fit. The length and/or width of the design can be adjusted to your own wishes. If you make any adjustments to the length and/or width, you will need extra yarn.

MATERIALS

• Crochet hook: 3.5 mm (UK 9 / US E4)
• Darning needle to seam the sweater up
• Scissors

YARN
For this sweater I used different kinds of Acrylic DK. I used the Royal yarn from budget store Zeeman (100 grams / 240 meters per skein). For each bright color, I used approx. 150 grams / 360 meters. For the beige/golden color I used approx. 300 grams / 480 meters. In total 450 grams / 660 meters.

The amount of yarn per color needs to be adjusted when you decide to make the Waves Sweater with more colors or in a different order. You can also make this sweater with yarn leftovers in many colors.

Some similar yarns are: Color Crafter (Scheepjes), Amigo (Hobbii), Saskia (Wibra), Bravo (Schachenmayr), Special DK(Stylecraft), We Love Yarn (Hobbii) and Acrylic DK (Budgetyarn.com). It's important to note that yarn thickness can vary slightly between different brands and manufacturers. That's why I always recommend making a swatch before you start.
